Breast Lift

Breast Lift

Breast sagging is a natural occurrence for nearly all women. Breast lifts are recommended if you want to give your breasts a more lifted look after the effects of pregnancy, breastfeeding, aging, gravity, heredity, and/or or weight loss have caused your breasts to lose their natural fullness. Also called a mastopexy, breast lift surgery can restore a more youthful and lifted look if you have sagging breasts, stretched skin, and loss of breast volume.

Breast lift surgery uplifts and improves the shape of your breast(s). A breast lift helps breasts that:

  • Sag
  • Have lost firmness and skin elasticity
  • Have a flatter, elongated shape
  • When unsupported, the nipple falls below the breast crease
  • Have a nipple and areola that point downward
  • Have stretched skin and an enlarged areola

Procedure Information

  1. Why choose a breast lift?
If you want to improve your breast shape and position, then a breast lift might be right for you. If you also want an increase in volume, breast implants may be inserted in conjunction with a breast lift. Because we value your individual goals, your surgical procedure will be tailored to match your needs and expectations.
  2. What are my first steps?
A consultation with one of the physicians at the Plastic Surgery Center is your essential first step to learn how a breast lift can help you. If you're ready to discuss your breast lift in more detail, call us at 316.688.7500 or request your consultation online today.
  3. Where will my surgery be performed?
Your surgery may be performed in our accredited ambulatory surgical suite or a hospital. The decision for anesthesia will be based on the requirements of your specific procedure and considerations of your preference as well as your surgeon's. At the Plastic Surgery Center, your safety and comfort are very important. Your surgeon will also give you certain pre operative care instructions. While we have included some on our website, they are not a substitute for your physician's instructions.
  4. Breast lift recovery time and expectations
You may have swelling and discomfort during your initial healing that can be controlled with medication. You may return to light, normal activity when you feel ready - usually in a few days. Your healing will continue for several weeks. Your physician will provide you with more specific post op instructions. We have included some basic instructions on our website for pre op, post op and scar care, but they are not a substitute for your physician's specific guidelines.
  5. The Lifted Breast
The final results of your breast lift will appear over a few months as your breast shape and position continue to settle. You will have the best results from your breast lift if you maintain your weight, have a healthy lifestyle and use proper support for your new firmer breasts.
  6. Financing Your Procedure
