Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty

Your nose can define the balance of your face. When it is out of proportion with your other facial features, it can affect the way you feel about yourself. Most often, the characteristics of the nose are determined by heredity, but sometimes the appearance of your nose can be changed due to injury or prior surgery, and you might need surgery to improve breathing function.

If you are bothered by the size and shape of your nose, or need surgery to help improve your breathing, than cosmetic surgery of the nose, or rhinoplasty, may be right for you. In some cases, nose surgery may be performed in conjunction with a chin implant or face lift.

Rhinoplasty

A rhinoplasty, or nose surgery, can improve the appearance of your nose enhancing your self confidence. It is an highly individualized procedure. The following are things that can be changed during a rhinoplasty:

  • Nose size, in relation to facial balance
  • Nose width, at the bridge or in the size and position of the nostrils
  • Nose profile, with visible humps or depressions on the bridge
  • Nasal tip, that is enlarged or bulbous, drooping, upturned or hooked
  • Nostrils that are large, wide or upturned
  • Nasal asymmetry (lack of balance)
